Foursquare Chaplains Like DWJD Workshop

Just prior to the 2011 ICFG Convention in Columbus, Ohio, the Foursquare Chaplains from all over America met at Fort McPherson near Danville, Ohio. Robby Booth invited us to conduct our DWJD Workshop for the Chaplains. They truly enjoyed the practicum sessions on Hearing from God, the Holy Spirit Baptism, and Learing How to Heal the Sick. The Chaplains are a unique and very effective arm of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. They are on the “front lines” of combat, conducting spiritual warfare and ministering to those needing spiritual input and a helping hand in their time of need. We were honored to be a part of such a dedicated group of warriors, many of whom have years of experience. The Chaplains received prophetic words of confirmation during Hearing from God, and many received healing from long term aches and pains.

Train the Trainer - MTI Teacher Training
|
Bend, OR - We conducted our annual Train the Trainer intensive the early part of May at Westside Church, Bend, Oregon. Fifteen pastors and leaders came from Gresham, Beaverton, Medford, Oregon, and Northern California. They learned how to launch and maintain the best possible Ministry Training Institute (MTI) for their churches. Some of the leaders came from an existing MTI from which they had just graduated. They were going back to be part of the practicum leadership team being formed for next year. The Ambassador Series was reviewed, and we gave instruction on how best to teach the three-volume series. The ministry skill practicums were reviewed, and then each leader participated in a practicum group. The real eye opener was when people began to get healed during the “practice” session on Learning How to Heal the Sick.

Congratulations to the Class of 2011

After eight and a half months of practical ministry training, student ministers are ready for the real world of one-on-one ministry. It’s graduation time! In order to graduate from a MTI, student ministers must complete the seventy-two exams, demonstrate that they can do the six ministry skills, and fulfill the six marketplace ministry attempts (leading two people to Christ, leading two Christians in the Holy Spirit baptism, and praying for two people who are sick or in pain). Any ministry training should include personal, hands-on, one-on-one demonstrations of the Spirit and of power working through the minister. If not, the training is merely academic. The graduates of our MTIs know what this means. You can’t learn how to heal the sick or cast out demons by reading a book. You must keep DOING it until you see results.

Our Trip to Costa Rica
|
|
Next month we will tell of our incredible June trip to Costa Rica. We spent time with our Foursquare missionaries in San Jose and were privileged to train 160 pastors, missionaries, and church leaders from our book, Doing What Jesus Did. We conducted all six ministry skills over a three-day period and also conducted a teacher intensive for those pastors considering launching a Ministry Training Institute later this year.
