Ministry Skill Three: Learning How to Heal the Sick
The first ministry skill learned during Discipleship Two is how to heal the sick. Student ministers participate in a series of hands-on practicum sessions where they learn how to share what they believe about divine healing. They are taught how to use their witness to create faith in those desiring to be healed. Finally, they are instructed on how to pray for the sick and expect God to confirm His Word by healing those who come for prayer.
Volume Two: The Christian Life
Healthy Family Life These six lessons are designed to teach believers the importance of striving for healthy relationships, especially at home. Pastors and teachers will like the six progressive teaching outlines starting with the basic design for lasting families from the pages of both the Old and New Testaments. The lessons strive to answer the many perplexing questions and origins of dysfunction prevalent in families today. Those desiring to become leaders in the church must allow the principles in these lessons to permeate their hearts.
Healthy Church Life The next six lessons are designed to equip potential leaders with an understanding of what makes a healthy church emerge and become strong. The easy-to-teach principles of harmony, cooperation, meaningful prayer, worship, and faithful serving are contained in these lessons. Church growth and healthy church life are hard to obtain unless everyone learns how to serve as Christ would serve. This is a must for church staff and leadership.
Worship Together: This lesson teaches that the primary purpose of mankind is to worship God. The importance and nature of true worship that transforms, both for the individual and the church as a whole is discussed.
Pray Together: This lesson explores how we can effectively pray together and see the mighty hand of God move on our behalf and for the furtherance of His Kingdom.
Serve Together: The theme of this lesson is that Jesus Christ came to serve, not to be served. We are challenged to primarily serve God, each other, and the world in which we live. We need to prioritize our service to God, our family, our church, and the community.
Give Together: The theme of this lesson is that it is more blessed to give than to receive. Just giving of our money is not enough. Giving of ourselves, our resources, and our talents is our mission. Tithing is Biblical and shows proper stewardship of all that God has entrusted to us.
Learn Together: Jesus left us with the command to teach everything He taught the disciples. It is possible to offer year-round, accelerated discipleship training in our churches by the use of small groups and extra classes at church. Learning is a life-long process.
Reach Out Together: This lesson teaches that a church whose goal is to win the lost will always have favor with God. The Great Commission is every Christian's responsibility. Reaching out in love and power can be achieved by a multiple evangelistic strategy beginning with the Sunday service.
Ministry Skill Four: Learning How to Hear from God
The second ministry skill learned during Discipleship Two is how to hear from God. Student ministers participate in a series of hands-on practicum sessions where they learn how to listen to the promptings from the Holy Spirit. Student ministers are then encouraged to deliver the words to those for whom they are intended. Believers learn how to hear God's voice and then do what He says. This exercise prepares believers to deliver authentic words of prophecy.
