Greece: Standing where Paul Preached

Greece—What a privilege to stand in the very spot where the Apostle Paul preached, both at the city of Corinth and at the Areopagus at Mars Hill in Athens. In Acts 17:18-33 he challenged the Athenian Greek philosophers regarding the altar to the Unknown God. We saw where it happened. We were amazed as we walked among the ruins of the city of Corinth and the Parthenon atop the Acropolis at the center of the beautiful city of Athens of seven million. To be able to touch the columns of these massive structures was like a dream. We also visited the ancient Sounio peninsula of Southern Greece where the large sanctuary for the Greek deities of Athena and Poseidon still stand today. Once we figured out how to use the city of Athens subway, it allowed us to spread out, shop, and sample the incredibly delicious Greek food between speaking and ministering at the church. Pastors George and Margarita Patsaouras were marvelous hosts, tour guides, and Greek restaurant specialists. We are so thankful for their invitation to come to Greece. They provided a comfortable apartment for our ten-day stay and introduced us to the people of the largest evangelical/Pentecostal church in all of Greece.
