Ministry Training Team Visits Rome

Rome, Italy—Before starting on our marathon ministry training in Greece, our MTC team stopped over in Rome for three days in October. We were spellbound by the age and enormity of the cathedrals, fountains, statues, ruins, and old city gates. We were so fortunate to visit the Vatican Museum to see the works of Michael Angelo and all the hundreds of incredible murals, ceiling art, marble statues, and tapestries dating back hundreds and hundreds of years.
We spent an entire day walking among the vast ruins of the early Roman Empire dating back 2,500 years. We were awestruck by the size of the emperor’s buildings, forums, and squares. Our visit to St. Peter’s Basilica and square was another highlight of our visit. We also spotted the balcony where the Pope gives his blessing. Between our three cameras we took over 1,700 pictures! We thank the Lord for fulfilling our life-long dream of experiencing Rome.

This ancient gate into the old city was one of many similar gates that grace the city of Rome.

This vast area of the center of ancient Rome revealed the enormity of the buildings and squares.

The great coliseum still stands even after 2,000 years of political upheaval, wars, and weather.

Every street we walked, we were awestruck by
cathedrals, statutes, and ancient buildings.
