Pastors Learn How to Train
Their Congregations for Ministry

Bend, OR— Our November 27-28 Bend, Oregon Teacher Intensive was a true blessing for the pastors who came to learn how to equip and release their congregations for effective one-on-one ministry. They learned how to conduct a fast-paced, thirty-six week Ministry Training Institute. They also learned how to conduct the ministry skill practicum sessions that have made the Ministry Training Institutes (MTIs) such a success.
We conducted the intensive at our Bend offices near Westside Church. Everyone received personal instruction on how to teach the MTI materials, do the administrative tasks, and how to create an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit meets the spiritual and physical needs of those present. To date, these intensives are small in number so everyone has opportunity to practice the hands-on teaching style recommended by John and Sonja. The intensives are offered Sunday evenings, all day Monday, and Monday evening. The pastors participate in the teaching and practicum session at the flagship MTI at Westside Church on Monday evening and then return home Tuesday morning. The next intensive: JANUARY 8-9, 2006.

The intensives provide a learning atmosphere where ministry skills are caught, not taught.

Pastors practice leading each other to Christ in a way that is easily taught in their churches.

Healing the sick by revelation is the best
way to learn how to minister to the sick.

The best way to learn how to lead people into the Holy Spirit baptism is by practicing on a friend.

You have finished the Holy Spirit role-play when the other person begins speaking in tongues.

It gets so real during the role-plays that pastors pursue the ministry skill with enthusiasm.
