MTI Leaders Trained and Ready to Go

Bend, Oregon— We are convinced that periodic training and re-training of all of our MTI practicum group leaders and apprentices is the key to a successful and power-packed Ministry Training Institute! As MTIs start all over the country the one ingredient that assures their success is concentrating on the practicum group leaders and apprentices. From the very start of Ministry Training Centers in 1996, we have stressed mentoring as the way to train emerging leaders. Our concept of mentoring is for the learner to watch and then do what the mentor demonstrates should be done. This is especially true when we are attempting to master the six ministry skills. We constantly remind our student ministers that you can’t learn how to heal the sick by reading a book! You have to lay your hands on the sick and pray for them to be healed.
In Bend, Oregon we have raised up nine ministry teams composed of at least one practicum group leader with one or more apprentice for each group. Most of our groups are led by a married couple or two mature singles of the same gender. In order to qualify for MTI leadership we insist on them completing the nine-month training and have a calling to lead.

Providing a BBQ will always result in a
full turn-out of volunteer MTI leaders.

We always start with strong worship and
praying in the Spirit at every gathering.

Bob and Louise Wolf (middle), our head
coaches conducted the MTI leadership training.

This year we are privileged to have many “twenty- somethings” stepping into MTI leadership.

Nine practicum groups, all with leaders and
apprentices are trained and ready to go.

Holly and Steve Taft opened their home and hosted the MTI leadership training event.
